Credits and plans

What a credit is, what each thing costs, what is free, and what happens when they run out.

What a credit is

A credit is one written post. Zeea spends credits only when it writes: the words of a post, a rewrite you ask for in chat, the words laid over a picture. Everything before writing is free, so you can read a site, keep its library, and plan a whole month without spending anything, and decide at the proposal whether the month is worth writing.

What each thing costs

  • A post: 1 credit. With the strongest writing model chosen for the brand, 2.
  • Asking Zeea for a change, a rewrite, or new words on a picture: 1 credit each.
  • Reading a site, keeping its library, the interview, the plan and the research behind it: free.
  • Effort: the dial beside the writer, from Faster to Smarter. Extra high adds 1 credit to anything that costs one, Max adds 2; the lower stops cost nothing extra, and free things stay free.

You never have to hold this list in your head. Every button that spends credits says how many, on the button itself, before you press it — and the number follows what you have chosen: writing a week of seventeen posts says seventeen, and says thirty-four if the brand’s writer is the strongest model. A button with no number on it costs nothing.

A run that fails is refunded to the credit, on its own, at once. You never pay for a post that did not arrive.

The plans

  • Solo — €19/mo: 60 credits a month, 1 brand, 1 person.
  • Studio — €69/mo: 250 credits a month, 5 brands, 3 people.
  • Agency — €179/mo: 800 credits a month, 20 brands, 10 people.

Credits renew on the day the plan renews and do not carry over. A month is about as many posts as a brand can publish well, so the plan to choose is the one whose number of brands is yours; the credits follow.

The trial is 7 days and 40 credits: a week of posts, enough to see a month proposed and a week of it written and approved. It ends on the date, not when the credits do.

When they run low, and when they run out

At a tenth of the allowance (never fewer than 80 on the largest plan, 6 on the smallest) every screen carries a line saying so, and the workspace’s admins get one email. At zero, an amber band says what has stopped and what has not: writing stops; nothing else does. Reading, planning, editing what is written, approving, and everything already in Buffer’s queue carry on. The band offers two ways to more: a credit pack for a month that ran over, and the next plan up for a month that always does.

Credit packs

A workspace on a paid plan can buy 25, 60 or 150 credits at a time, as one payment with no subscription, from the Credits page: 25 for €9, 60 for €19, 150 for €45. Bought credits are spent after the month’s own allowance, so they are never used up while a month still has credits of its own, and they carry over from month to month. If the plan ends, they are kept and come back into use when it starts again. A pack always costs a little more per credit than the next plan up, which is the better deal for a workspace that runs over every month.

Paying, and a payment that fails

Paddle is our merchant of record: they charge the card, issue the invoice and pay any refund. If a charge fails, the plan stays on. You get one email, every screen carries a band with the way to update the card, and Paddle tries again over the following days. Only if the card is never updated does the subscription end, and then the band above takes over: everything you made stays, and writing more needs a plan. The rules for cancelling and refunds are on the refund page.
